7. Does Dessix support data imports? What sources are supported?
Yes, Dessix supports importing data from markdown files, folders, Apple Notes, Notion, Obsidian, and Roam Research. However, only basic markdown syntax is supported, and platform-specific features beyond the markdown standard are not imported.
8. How does Dessix ensure data security and privacy?
All data stays within your browser, and any AI interactions are processed with user control. No data is stored externally unless explicitly chosen by the user.
9. How does Dessix work offline?
Dessix supports offline functionality for viewing and editing local notes. AI-powered features require an internet connection but are seamlessly integrated when online.
10. Who is responsible for data backup and protection?
Dessix is an offline-first application — your data is stored locally in your browser or desktop app. Users are responsible for protecting their own data. You can enable scheduled local auto-backup in Settings to create regular backups at intervals of your choice (30 min to 1 day). The cloud sync service is provided as a convenience and does not guarantee data integrity or completeness. We strongly recommend enabling auto-backup to prevent data loss.
11. What is your refund policy?
Our refund policy varies based on service type: 1) Monthly Subscriptions: First-time subscribers can request refunds within 24 hours of payment. Renewal subscriptions are not eligible for refunds. Generally, no refunds for current subscription period, but you can cancel renewal and continue using until period end. 2) Credit Package Purchases: Non-refundable once payment is successful. 3) Additional Credits: Effective from purchase date and usable during valid subscription period. 12. Does Dessix offer educational discounts?
Yes, Dessix offers a 10% educational discount for students and educators. To apply, please send an email from your educational institution email address (with a valid .edu or institution domain) to hello@dessix.io stating your intent. We will review your application and issue a discount coupon within 3 business days. The coupon can be used 10 times for both subscriptions and credit purchases. Please note that this discount is exclusively tied to your educational account and cannot be transferred.
13. Is there a free trial?
Dessix offers a basic version with complimentary credits for initial use. Additional credits for advanced features can be purchased. Monthly subscriptions can request refunds within 24 hours of payment. Please note that credit package purchases are non-refundable once payment is successful.
14. What payment methods do you accept?
We accept most major credit and debit cards for all plans through Stripe, a secure payment processor.
